Results from the NCAA Track and Field Championships

March 31, 1998

MEN'S RESULTS:

The Clemson men's track and field team finished the 1998 Indoor NCAA Championships tied for third place with Washington State with 26 points. The Tigers had seven All-Americans and sophomore Shawn Crawford took first place in the 200m dash running a time of 20.69. He is the first Clemosn athlete to win the 200m dash since James Trapp did in 1992 with a time of 20.66. The top 10 teams were: 1st Arkansas 56 pts, 2nd Stanford 36.50, T3rd Clemson and Washington St. 26, 5th Southern Methodist 23, 6th Michigan 20, T7th South Carolina, Florida, Baylor, and Georgia Tech 18.

WOMEN

The Lady Tigers finished 33rd at the 1998 Indoor Track and Field National Championships with six points. The Clemson women's track and field team had five All-Americans- one individual and one relay team. The top ten teams with points are: 1st Texas 60, 2nd LSU 30, T3rd Pittsburgh 26, T3rd Georgetown 26, 5th Michigan 24.50, 6th Florida 24, 7th SOuthern Methodist 23, 8th Georgia 21, 9th WInconsin 20, 10th Brigham Young 18.50.
